Narrator: One day, Stormfur was swimming along, thinking about how he was always able to come to the Big Harbor from Lakeland, where he lived, when Foduck came up to him.

Foduck: (Whistles in greeting) Hi, Stormfur.

Stormfur: Hi, Foduck. What are you doing?

Foduck: I'm doing my regular safety patrol.

Stormfur: Ooh. What do you do on your safety patrol?

Narrator: Foduck explained to Stormfur what he did on his safety patrol, and Stormfur listened with wonder. Soon, George came up to them.

George: (whistles in greeting)

Stormfur: Hi, George! (Climbs onto George's deck and hugs him happily)

George: Hi, Stormfur!

Stormfur: (Jumps back into the water) Foduck was just explaining to me what he does on his safety patrol.

Narrator: George smiled, but then his smile disappeared, and he turned away from Stormfur.

Stormfur: George, is something wrong?

Narrator: Instead of answering, George chugged away quickly.

Stormfur: George, wait! (Sighs heavily)

Foduck: What was that about?

Stormfur: (Confused and worried) I think something's wrong with George, but he won't tell me what it is.

Narrator: Meanwhile, George had found Theodore, who was docking Barrington Barge.

George: (Sighs) I hope Theodore can help me. (Chugs up to Theodore) Theodore, can I talk to you?

Theodore: Sure, George. (Finishes docking Barrington, then goes with George) What is it?

George: (Quietly) Well, I want to ask Stormfur something, but...I don't know how to ask him.

Theodore: What is it you want to ask Stormfur?

George: I want to ask him...to be my best friend. Can you help me?

Theodore: Of course I can. Let me think. (Gets an idea) George, how well do you sing?

George: I don't know, honestly. Why?

Theodore: You could sing a special song to him to ask him to be your best friend.

George: That's a great idea, Theodore! (Gets an idea himself) And I have an idea for a song. Want to hear it?

Theodore: Yeah.

George: Okay. (Clears his throat)

You should know I'm your friend

You should know I care

You should know that a friendship's

Something we both share

I don't want to procrastinate

Telling you how I feel

Cos you know I know buddy

I will never go.

We'll always stay together

We'll never be apart

Cos I know if we were,

It would just break my heart

Every time that I look at you

I can't help but smile

Cos you know I know buddy

I will never go.

Will you be my best friend?

Will you be my best friend?

Can a friendship stay to the end

I hope that you'll say yes

With you my world goes round and round

And will never turn upside down

Will you be my best friend?

You always light up my darkness

You can lend a hand

You help find me the answers

When I don't understand

Why should anybody tell us

to forget our friendship

Cos you know I know buddy

I will never go.

No, we won't be sorry

Everyone will see

That when we are together

Our friendship is meant to be

Every time that I call your name

The sound I hope to hear

Is the sound of your voice calling

Calling "I'm coming".

Will you be my best friend?

Will you be my best friend?

Can a friendship stay to the end

So, will you be my best friend?

Stormfur, will you be my best friend?

Theodore: Wow, George! That was great!

George: Thanks, Theodore. Do you think Stormfur will like it?

Theodore: I know he'll love it. So, are you ready to ask Stormfur to be your best friend?

George: Yes, I am. Let's go.

Narrator: So, George and Theodore went back to Foduck and Stormfur.

Stormfur: (To Foduck) Yay! George came back!

George: Stormfur, I want to ask you something.

Stormfur: Sure, George. What is it?

George: (Clears his throat)

Stormfur, will you be my best friend?

Stormfur: (Gasps in awe) Wow. George...I didn't know you could sing.

George: Well, now you know. So, what do you say, Stormfur? Will you be my best friend?

Stormfur: Yes! Yes, I will, George! (Goes onto George's deck and hugs him)

Narrator: The next day, it was Stormfur and George's best friending day. Theodore, who was to be George's best tug, helped George get ready.

George: Do I look okay, Theodore? I don't want to look like a pile of trash in front of everyone.

Theodore: Don't worry, George. You look great. I made sure you didn't look like a pile of trash.

George; (Smiles) Thanks, Theodore. Who's the judge going to be?

Theodore: (Laughs) George, the Dispatcher's going to be the judge, remember?

George: (Laughs) Oh, right. I forgot.

Narrator: Meanwhile, Stormfur was getting ready with Foduck, who was to be Stormfur's tug-of-honor, and Hank, who was to give Stormfur away.

Stormfur: Do I look okay, Foduck? I don't want to look like a total mess, especially in front of George.

Foduck: You look great, Stormfur. I made sure you didn't look like a total mess.

Stormfur: (Smiles) Thanks, Foduck.

Hank: You look handsome, Stormfur.

Stormfur: (Smiles) Thanks, Hank. Is Emily in the best friending too?

Foduck: Yes, she is. She's helping everyone get into their places.

Stormfur: An usher does that, so that's her role, right?

Foduck: Exactly.

Hank: Are you ready, Stormfur?

Stormfur: I sure am, Hank. Let's go.

Narrator: As Foduck had said, Emily, in her role as an usher, as Stormfur had mentioned, was helping everyone get into their proper places.

Emily: There, the last guest is in their place. Now to take my place. (Goes to her place)

Narrator: Then, the best friending began. First, George went down the makeshift aisle, then he took his place at the left of the Dispatcher.

George: I'm excited to become best friends with Stormfur.

Narrator: Then, Theodore and Foduck went down the makeshift aisle side by side, then they split to go to their places: Foduck to the right of the Dispatcher, Theodore to the left of George and the Dispatcher.

Theodore: (Whispers to Foduck) Does what we did usually happen, or do you know?

Foduck: (Whispers back) I don't know. You might have to ask Stormfur at the reception.

Narrator: Then, the band played a parody of "Here Comes the Bride" called "Here Comes the Best Friend", and as they played, everyone looked, and Hank came down the makeshift aisle with Stormfur on his deck.

George: (Sees Stormfur, gasps in awe, whispers to Theodore) I think I'm the luckiest tug in the whole Big Harbor.

Narrator: When Hank got to the Dispatcher, George joined him. Stormfur then climbed onto George's deck, and Hank went to take his place with the guests.

Dispatcher: Ladies and gentleboats, we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of George the Valiant and Stormfur Teletubby in best friendship. (To George) George, do you take Stormfur to be your best friend, to love him, help him, comfort him, and be there for him?

George: I do.

Dispatcher: (To Stormfur) And Stormfur, do you take George to be your best friend, to love him, help him, comfort him, and be there for him?

Stormfur: I do.

Dispatcher: Then, I now pronounce you best friends. (To Stormfur) You may hug your new best friend.

Stormfur: (Hugs George)

Everyone: (Cheers) Hooray!

George: (To Stormfur) I'm the luckiest tug in the whole Big Harbor to have you as a best friend, Stormfur.

Stormfur: (Smiles at George) Well, I'm the luckiest Teletubby in the whole Big Harbor to have you as a best friend, George.

Narrator: At the reception, George and Stormfur were showered with congratulations from everyone, even grumpy Guysborough, and they both were very lucky indeed to have each other as a best friend.

Theodore: (To Stormfur) Hey, Stormfur, does what Foduck and I had done happen at weddings or a best friending?

Stormfur: Yeah, sometimes. Why do you ask, Theodore?

Theodore: I was just wondering.

Stormfur: Oh, okay.

Narrator: After the reception, George and Stormfur, along with the other tugs, went back to the Great Ocean Dock to share stories, and after the story of how George and Stormfur met, the Dispatcher had some good news for the two best friends.

Dispatcher: (To George and Stormfur) I have some good news for you two. You may start working together since you are now best friends.

George: (Blows his whistle happily)

Stormfur: (Cheers) All right!

Narrator: So, with the good news that they could start working together, George and Stormfur went happily to sleep, and soon the other tugs were asleep, too.
